The Ultima Martial Arts Center was founded by Mr. Charles Allen in 1983. Mr. Allen had numerous Black Belts in different styles, but the studio was founded on Chun Kuk Do (Universal Way)...Chuck Norris' system of karate. Mr. Allen tested into Chun Kuk Do as a Third Degree Black Belt, with Mr. Norris being the head judge. Mr. Allen founded the Foothills Karate Studio in Tucson Az., and taught both adults and children for many years. In fact, Mr. Allen was often referred to as the "pied piper" of the kids' program because he was so good at teaching children. Mr. Allen married a lady, who then helped him grow the studio to the largest Chun Kuk Do studio in the United States! After approximately 25 years, the studio was sold to Mr. Howard when Mr. Allen moved to the east coast with his wife. Krav Maga was then incorporated as a system of self defense for the adults. As of 2009, we became the United States Krav Maga Association first affiliate studio. Currently we are the only certified Krav Maga Studio in the state of Arizona under USKMA.The kids program evolved from Chun Kuk Do to Youth Krav Maga. A curriculum including anti-bullying techniques, combative jiu-jitsu, as well as defenses against adult predators, ensure a well-rounded self-defense system that all kids can use.In 2011 Ms. Celia Webb became majority owner of the West studio. In 2014 Mr. Howard retired from the West studio, leaving a team of very well prepared, professional black belts to carry on the name of Krav Maga into the future. Our passion to teach people how to defend themselves in an increasingly dangerous environment, lives on.
